The Future Is Private is a playful digital installation with a serious message about privacy
The surveillance–economy is a growing capitalist powerhouse with deceiving capacities over its subjects. Under the guise of safety, we allow camera surveillance and other data processing hard- and software to infiltrate our 'personal' lives in order to be sold and fed back to us. Most of us are completely unaware of this ecosystem and its effects to our general perception of life. This is an act of crime that goes against our freedom to make rational choices when purchasing products, services or even maintain our ability to move anywhere anonymously. The Future Is Private raises awareness about a problematic spread of systemic manipulation within the arena of digital culture in relation to surveillance and capitalising data, provided by unaware citizens, such as you and me. The artwork aims to enforce more strict legislation in which we are fully informed over our contribution.
ANIMA is a digital installation that makes you think about the intrigue of unpredictability
The Generative Adversarial Network (G.A.N.) was perhaps one of the most exciting milestones in the development of Machine Learning. This system allows you to accurately and intelligently generate unique content from a database of images or words. The inherently unpredictable nature of a G.A.N. excites people in the same way that observing or interacting with other forces of nature such as people and animals do or even fire does. These elements intrigue, because they breathe, move and interact unpredictably. ANIMA extends the intrigue of unpredictability by giving these initially non-moving and non-existing faces more interactive value through an interactive digital installation.
